Sometimes the simplest things take the most effort, dedication, passion and patience. Like Obiz wines, which embody the symbiotic relationship between nature and humanity. The name of our winery is rooted in the historic legacy of its surroundings. Our identity and our wines have been shaped by the essence of this land.
The Obiz story tells of a vineyard that embraces the future, in a land where past and present intertwine. The area has a strong winegrowing tradition and it was here, in 1997, that Yunmani decided to write his own story. His is a tale of courage and determination, with feet firmly planted in his grandparents’ footsteps, and his eyes on a goal: to capture the essence of the terroir through the art of simplicity in a glass, while recognising that the ultimate artist is Nature herself.
Nature works wonders. We are committed to following the cyclical rhythm of nature, to harvest its finest fruits and transform them into works of art to delight the palate. Made from resistant grape varieties, Obiz Piwi wines honour our childhood memories and a vision for the future: a greener, cleaner, more natural and sustainable approach to viticulture.
Friuli in a glass: shy, introvert and yet forthright and consistent, it is generous in the mouth, releasing lively aromas of wildflowers and meadow herbs mingled with hints of almond. A harmony for the palate and the soul.
Whimsical Malvasia is a cornucopia of aromas and flavours ranging from apricot to peach, toasted hazelnuts, hay and meadow herbs. A heartwarming palate infused with a wealth of emotions.
This goddess among wines is an ode to the river after which it is named. A blend of Friuliano and Malvasia grapes whispers the stories and history of the terroir. A nose of ripe fruit, yellow apple and pair leads to a creamy, velvety-soft mouth.
Elegant, fresh and fruity, it is “grey” by name but not by nature! Harmonious notes of apple and pear enfold sapid flavours, giving good length to this characterful, well-structured wine.
Irresistibly delicate, from the scent of acacia blossom to surprising, spicy aromas. An endless delight!
Bursting with aromas as its name suggests, a sequence of floral notes, rose, thyme, citrus and minerals unfolds sip after sip, with an impressively full mouthfeel.
Pleasantly uncomplicated: a hint of red fruit entwined with liquorice and cut grass aromas, to striking effect.
Elegance that grows with age. A smooth harmony of red fruits and spicy notes gives this wine its assertive character.
Rounded, lingering, much-loved: red fruit and berry aromas mingle with mouthfilling notes of chocolate and tobacco in a warm embrace. A true treat for the palate.
Ruby-red, robust Refosco. This regal red is full-bodied and aromatic, yet fresh and lively. It pairs particularly well with traditional dishes from the Friuli region.
This goddess among wines is an ode to the river after which it is named. A blend of Refosco and Merlot grapes whispers the stories and history of the terroir. A nose of wild berries interwoven with hints of tobacco and vanilla. Divinely soft and full on the palate.
A masterful work of art and a treat for the senses. Its fine perlage reveals an enticing floral bouquet, while its delicately spiced harmony toasts the palate. Elegant exuberance.
The heart and soul of Friuli. A story in a glass: our story, and that of our terroir and its flavours, is an authentic tale to savour with every sip. A dream of springtime that thrills the palate with a delicately scented aromatic bouquet, featuring tangy, fruity notes.
A celebration of freshness and lightness, with a delicate bouquet conjuring fruity notes of apple, pear and white peach. Each sip brims with bubbling charm.
A rosé for those who dare to choose something different, something romantic. Charmingly floral and fruity, this is the shining star of every table.
Not just different, but opposite. L’opposto aims to reclaim the heritage of simple agricultural practices attuned to nature, echoing the days when Yunmani Bergamasco, as a boy, walked in his grandparents’ footsteps through the countryside. Cabernet Volos is a rebellious red. Rebellious, yet true to its roots and to its parent, Cabernet, from which it inherited its complex, fruity aromas.
Not just different, but opposite. L’opposto aims to reclaim the heritage of simple agricultural practices attuned to nature, echoing the days when Yunmani Bergamasco, as a boy, walked in his grandparents’ footsteps through the countryside. Soreli is an exotic voyage for the palate, bursting with tropical aromas from pineapple to passion fruit. Opposites attract.
Each drop of this oil is infused with a love of nature, of patient work in the olive groves, nurturing this generous land with its ancient secrets. Yunmani’s father Dino has poured his passion into creating this special oil, which offers a tender embrace of fragrant flavours.
Produced using pomace selected from the finest grapes, our grappa is a child of this land, born of the meeting of the elements, the dance of the sun and the moon marking the cycles of nature. Elegant aromas introduce an intense, bold yet soft flavour.
A visit to Obiz is much more than a wine tasting. It’s an invitation to discover the terroir, with its roots and flavours. Our wines tell stories, to savour with the senses. Stories to taste, stories to touch, in the vineyard and in the cellar. Together, let’s raise a glass of goodness and toast life itself!
